Kinetic V, a Transpac 52 sailing for the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club and skippered by David Sutcliffe, is entered in the 2016 Vic-Maui.  Kinetic V's home port is Vancouver. 

The Kinetic team sailed a Beneteau First 47.7 in the 2004, 2006, 2010, 2012 and 2014 Vic-Maui races, the 2005 and 2015 Van Isle 360 races, the stormy 2005 and 2010 Southern Straits, Swiftsure's, Oregon Offshore's and many other races.  Following the 2006 Vic-Maui, Kinetic sailed onward to Australia, completed the 2006 Sydney Hobart race and then sailed home, a round trip of over 17,000 nautical miles. Kinetic's 2010 Vic-Maui overall race-winning crew included five adults and four teens, and Kinetic's 2012 Vic-Maui team earned another division win. 

The Kinetic team has also sailed Farr 30's in Snowflake, VARC, Southern Straits, Swiftsure, the 2007 and 2009 Van Isle 360's, many other local races, Annapolis NOOD, and Key West Race Week.  

Preparing for the 2016 Vic-Maui, the TP52 Kinetic V will sail in the 2016 Snowflake series, Southern Straits, Patos Island, Oregon Offshore, Halibut Bank, and Swiftsure races.  

This will be the Kinetic team's sixth ocean race to Hawaii.  It is also the Half Century mark for Vic-Maui.  We're in it for the challenge, adventure and teamwork, and the great people and parties in Lahaina!
